Hinge Gate Safety Upgrade. The fix for this week is a hinge gate safety upgrade for a high security site within the Greater London area. The gate was manufactured and installed by another company, the client appointed Security Solutions to bring the gate in line with current safety standards.
Following a full gate survey our skilled engineer advised the client that the current safety edges had not been wired correctly to the transmitter, the safety loops had been disconnected due to broken tarmac and exposed cables. The engineer Identified hinge and trapping points across the gate.
The engineer fitted new and additional safety edges to prevent trapping between the wall and the gate and installed finger guards on the hinges. New safety loops were cut and sealed followed by a full overhaul of the control cabinet. An intensive risk assessment and force test was carried out before the gate approved safe to use.
