Security Solutions develops new style road blocker
06/12/10 - Responding to market demands, perimeter access specialist, Security Solutions, has developed a cost effective crash rated road-blocker which meets BSI PAS 68:2010, (impact test specification for vehicle security barriers).
As many modern traffic-flows on high security sites are designed to limit vehicle speeds, Security Solutions realised that there was a demand for a road blocker to be crash tested to just 30mph.
This new road blocker, SSCB, not only acts as a visual deterrent but also offers zero site penetration - up to speeds of 30mph. Footage of it bringing a 7.5 tonne vehicle to a complete halt is available to view at http://www.securitysolutionsgb.com/roadblockers.php
“Many customers are paying a premium for a product which is over engineered for their requirements,” explained Brian Wilkinson, technical manager. “Much has been done to slow traffic in high security settings with road-layouts, but we felt the road blockers on the market hadn’t moved with the times.”
Security Solutions’ cheese wedge shaped road blocker is sunk into the roadway as one complete unit, for ease of installation and acts as an aggressive visual deterrent.
It is made of a galvanised steel box construction and two hydraulic rams. It is bedded into a pit with integral sub pumps for drainage.
